🎉 A Milestone has been reached for the ERATOSTHENES Centre of Excellence! 🎉The Cyprus Atmospheric Remote Sensing Observatory (#CARO_NF) is here to stay! 🌍🌤️Thanks to the collaboration between the TROPOS Remote Sensing Department and the CARO teams, and under the umbrella of the European Union project EXCELSIOR, this achievement was made possible. 🌐🤝Since June 25th, 2024, the cloud remote sensing platform complements the existing aerosol remote sensing platform of the #CARO_NF. 🌩️☁️The planned CARO ACTRIS Research Infrastructure National Facility in Cyprus will enable joint spaceborne and ground-based remote sensing applications in the field of Atmospheric Interactions! 🚀📡#ACTRIS_RI, #TROPOS_eu, #EratosthenesCoE_CARO, #eratosthenescoe European Commission Cyprus University of Technology

🌐Researchers from the ERATOSTHENES Centre of Excellence, Maria Prodromou, Eleftheria Kalogirou and Stelios Neophytides, traveled to Italy for a 5-day secondment at Tor Vergata University in Italy last week during the 2nd summer school in the framework of AI-OBSERVER projectℹDuring this secondment, very interesting presentations on operative chains and pipeline processes were conducted. 🌐Our team member Eleni Loulli participated at the 43rd EARSeL Symposium in Manchester, UK, to present our recent educational activities in collaboration with the BEYOND EO Centre NOA under SpaceEDUnity ERASMUS+ project.🛰SpaceEDUnity aims at creating student communities for the integration of crowdsourcing data, remote sensing and geoinformatics aiming to mitigation of climate change.#EratosthenesCoE

🛰ERATOSTHENES Centre of Excellence goes to China! 🛰ℹOur PhD student Georgia Charalampous participates in the 🌐 International Radiation Symposium 2024 (IRS2024 -https://lnkd.in/eHDfGVsq) topresent the preliminary evaluation of the Cyprus Erythemal Forecasting System against the measurements from the Cyprus Solar Network.
