B. L.Ranchero Village·2 days agoGood Morning: The Ranchero Village Sunshine Report for Saturday, April 13th, 2024 is copied by Kay Voorheis (Thanks Kay) and the report is forwarded by Boyd Lee. At the conclusion of Kay's Report I am including further information. Boyd Kay Voorheis, President of Social Activities, welcomed everyone to coffee. Dick Gaffney led the Pledge of Allegiance, which was followed by a moment of silence. Coffee Committee: Chuck Heinl, Charlie Gilmette, Bob Goguen, Hazel Koreen, Pam Walker and Sandy Swenson prepared coffee today. Thank you! No new homeowners, residents or guests today. Shredding: There is a shredding event taking place today at the Starkey Road recycling center from 9 AM to 12 noon. Ron Howe – HOA: Hot dog picnic: Ron shared that there was a good turn out for the HOA hot dog picnic. He thanked everyone for coming out and enjoying this event which was followed by the Snowbird dance. HOA Meeting: Everyone is encouraged to attend the HOA member meeting on Thursday, April 18 in the Hacienda. A quorum of members is needed in order to ratify the new directors to the Board. The meeting will start at 7 PM. Brenda Deprey – Women’s Club: Brenda is the new President of the Women’s Club and shared that there are now five new Board members to the Women’s Club Board. There were installed at the Solar Eclipse After Party held on Tuesday, April 9. Paint Night: Everyone is invited to the Paint Night to be held on Tuesday evening, April 23. We will be painting dolphins with Mary Albritton. Men and women are invited; tickets are $15 to help defray the cost of the supplies. This event will take place from 6 to 9 PM. May Luncheon: We will be having an out luncheon at the Country Pizza Inn. Ladies wishing to car pool will meet in the Hacienda parking lot at 11:30 AM. Tickets to hold a seat are $5 and will go on sale in a couple weeks. Note that this luncheon will be on WEDNESDAY, May 15. Labor Day Picnic: The Labor Day Picnic will be a Hawaiian luau on Monday, September 2. We will be having a pig roast that day. We are looking forward to a great day! Bazaar: Our annual bazaar will be held on Sunday, November 10. Keep this date in mind for buying and/or selling your craft items. Karen Ray – Sunshine Report: Karen reported that Boyd Lee is out of the hospital after having double pneumonia. He will be flying back to Canada tomorrow. Shirley Beals, former resident, passed away on Saturday, April 6. Joan McGee, former resident, passed away this week also. Denis Juda – Men’s Club: Pancake Breakfast: Our last breakfast of the season was held on Friday, April 12. We served about 86 people. The next breakfast will be in December. Music Trivia Bingo: We will be playing this fun game on Friday, April 19 in the Hacienda. Tickets are $5 for 3 bingo sheets. Doors will open at 5:30 PM and we start bingo at 6 PM. Come join us and see what the grand prize is for the night! There were 8 $10 50/50 winners. There were 58 people in attendance and baked goods for sale. Further information from Boyd: I would like to thank everyone for their concern and good wishes for my health.
